The Bellver Castle is a Circular Gothic Fortress, with a beautiful forest wrapping around it. It is located approximately three kilometres from the old city centre of Palma de Mallorca. It was built in the early fourteenth century by order of King James II. It is located on a hill, 112 meters above sea level. It’s name Bellver Castle comes from the old catalan bell veer, which means “beautiful view” because there are wonderful views over the city, the port, the Tramuntana mountains and the Pla de Mallorca which is the centre of the Island. A great place to relax and unwind in the City, going for long walks, running and cycling through the Bellver park.
